Having established contact and working relations with the 26th Fleet, the Orpheus Project has seen increased traffic to and from Starbase 332. The USS Hestia under the command of Captain Lezori Kor was currently on route back to the Orpheus system after a team building exercise aboard Starbase 381. While passing through the relatively uncharted Khazan Cluster in which the Orpheus System is located, the ship's long ranged sensors had detected a strange object adrift just outside one of these unexplored star systems where our story begins...

The object turned out to be some kind of spherical craft of ancient construction. The fact that it was constructed very similarly with the core of the hostile vessel encountered by Project Orpheus starships in the Hades system was cause for some concern, but further scans showed the craft to be substantially smaller and without power. Being adrift and without an atmosphere, an EVA equipped away team was beamed aboard to investigate. While exploring the small spacecraft, the away team discovered a single spartan chamber. In an effort to glean information from the craft's lone computer console, the away team inadvertently reactivated the craft, leading to unforeseen consequences. The vessel began emitting strong low frequency pulse that began disrupting power systems aboard the Hestia and her runabouts, as well as interfering with the ship's transporter lock. Captain Lezori was then forced to order the ships away from the craft while the away team attempted to interact and disable the spacecraft, as the pulses were gradually increasing in strength and frequency towards levels that were potentially deadly for those aboard. During the frantic search for solutions, Captain Lezori was knocked unconscious by an overloading power generator, forcing Command T'Pau to take command. The runabouts were later ordered to make a daring flyby at warp speeds and managed to beam part of the away team off the craft, but the remaining members were still stranded. The spacecraft was finally disabled when Command Kingston ventured into the bowels of the vessel and disconnected its main power battery in a flurry of exploding power conduits (Because that's what power conduits do in Star Trek). With the craft once again unpowered and the pulses ceased, the space craft was towed back to Orpheus via tractor beam for future study. ((For anyone who wants to follow up on the spacecraft, please let me know either here or in-game and we can pick this up on this thread as a bit of forum rp and see what is discovered. ))
