Lt Commander William Benjamin Harrison, Chief of Security's Log Stardate 91583.73
We are currently cleaning up after last night's incident. I'm not going to sugar coat anything, we got pantsed. Badly. Several of my security team is wounded. Two of the stations senior staff: Commanders T'Pau and Kingston are currently in the infirmary being treated for phaser burns. A civilian shuttle was stolen as the Romulans made their escape, taking one of the bizarre alien spheres with them, and shattering another.
*Loud coughing, audio log is paused*
Some genius thought it would be a good idea to wake up an ancient, frozen Romulan on our station without considering the risks. Hell, I have a hard enough time trusting the modern, room temperature Romulans we have running around the station. As chief of security this reflects directly on me. While there were no fatalities on our side, and the majority of the Romulan attackers were either killed or are in custody, Herlak and a handful of his crew escaped and several station staff were injured. I will be submitting myself to Captain Edzya for disciplinary action as soon as...as soon...
*More loud coughing, prolonged*
As soon as I visit the doctor about this cold.
End Log.

Chief of Security's Log, Stardate 91612.4
It's been over a week now since the attack by Herlak and his men. I'm still not entirely comfortable with how easily they managed to take out my men and escape the station. I've been running drills and simulations all week in an effort to prevent something like this from happening again.
I've tried interrogating the Romluans we have in the brig to figure out what they know about those weird black orbs. They're amazingly tight lipped. I tried to get Dr. V'Yl to put her crazy Vulcan psychic whammo on the Romulans, to try and get the information directly from their brains. She lectured me on the "ethical ramifications" of using the Vulcan Mind Meld on prisoners as a means of information extraction. Then she told me that the Romulans are in too poor health to even attempt such a thing.
*intense coughing*
And I think she's right. They don't look so hot. They've been sweating, even though we've got environmental controls set for the Romulan comfort zone. They seem to be having nightmares and hallucinations. Vomiting, weakness, all sorts of nasty symptoms. We've got some of the medical staff on hand to take a look at them. Dr D'Saryn is helping Commander T'Pau with those orb thingies, so it looks like we've got our hands full.
Chief of Security's Log, Supplemental
I don't feel so great...I'm starting to *cough* present some of the symptoms that the Romulans are. This morning I woke up and immediately lost my breakfast. It feels like the station is a million degrees right now....but I can't stop shivering...and the fever dreams....they're so intense.
Whatever kind of crazy Alien flu those Romulans have....the bastards gave it to me...*intense coughing* I'm gonna...check myself into the infirmary. Hopefully the doc can do something to help me out *cough* In the mean time I'm putting Chief Petty Officer Bork in charge of security.
Computer, end recording.
