***Incoming Transmission for Captain Sheridan Orpheus Command***
Attention all task force personnel I'd like a moment of your time to clarify some rumors that have been circulating amongst the fleet, it is indeed true that preliminary surveys on this systems gas giant, currently designated Eurydice V, have turned up the mostly intact remains of a T'liss class warbird on one of the moons. Scans performed by the USS Haverford date this find at around 200 years old, which presents something of a mystery as during the 2200s this area of space was well beyond the boarders of the Romulan Star Empire and a T'liss would hardly of been an idea exploration craft. It has been agreed with our Romulan allies and with Admiral T'nae that the vessel should be investigated and the remains of her crew recovered if possible as well as any surviving computer records of her mission. Anyone fleet captains wishing to join the survey mission personally or to send some of there officers to assist should contact my office within the next day or two we aim to have finished mining operation and secured the vessel sufficiently for it too be safe for preliminary away teams.

(( ok quick OOC write up of what happened in this episode, thank you everyone that's been helping bring this alive in there personal logs and stuff you guys rock An investigation of the crashed ship, the I.R.W. Teverresh, revealed that the ship was specially refitted from deep space travel including a number of stasis pods, implying the trip out here was both really really long, ie a few years and that they knew where they were going more or less not just exploring. The ship was attacked, badly damaged and lost navigation leaving the crew with no choice but to throw all power to structural integrity and brace for impact as the ship plowed right into the moon, stranded and with no hope of repairing the ship half the crew retreated to the stasis pods while some of the engineers... presumably volunteers worked to get the power supply stabilized ultimately freezing to death as the life support systems failed. During the exploration of the Teverresh 5 black sphere like objects were found and brought back as well as the remaining twenty Romulan crew members. On discovering who the Romulan Commander was Admiral Tal'Aura was ready to shoot him down in his pod... although she claimed her motives were in the good of the republic and Tain Herlak was potential a serious threat it seems there was some major personal animosity there, which is odd given Sindari would have to be an old women to have actually even have met this Romulan before given how long he has been stranded out here. I'll finish the station part of this tomorrow))

((on the return to starbase the pods containing the Romulan survivors were taken to the med bay and it was decided to run blood and tissue tests of Herlak before even considering waking him or any of this people. As time past people went about there business with Vega heading off to report to Edzya, T'Pau and Josh moving into the science lab to check on the Spheres, Jorda headed down to engineering to check things over, Captain Adalinde and Admiral Sindari returned to there respective ships.
Unknown to anyone Herlak was fitted with an implant that would flood his system with adrenalin and bring him out of stasis should he be moved into a safe environment, no one foresaw this the implant was a custom made device and given the rarely of stasis in trek would be extremely rare in any case, even Sindari who actually knew him didn't see it coming or she would of been sat at the door to sickbay with a disruptor waiting to shoot him while 'escaping'
Quickly overpowering a startled Doctor D'Saryn and using her as a hostage he forced the security guard to surrender and the rest of the medical staff to revive the remainder of his crew. With sickbay under his control and a nearby supply locker raided for more phasers, Herlak had some of his people disguise themselves as medical staff so they could scout out the base and look for any weak points they could exploit, during this period the stations Counselor Lt Burns and field medic Lt Commander Nox both stumbled across the sickbay situation and were unfortunately taken hostage as well.
With a basic layout of the facility the scouting party set out again from sickbay in order to attempt to hack into a control node for the stations sensors and communications in hopes of secretly knocking both systems out to aid in there escape, unfortunately for the Romulans Jorda noticed the attempted access and quickly overrode it and sent out a warning that someone was messing with the starbases systems, with no options and time running out the scouting party had to resort to the brute force answer of blasting the computer node and knocking out sensors and comms that way, triggering an automatic red alert as well as disrupting a lot of secondary systems... note starbase 332 is still semi complete so a lot of redundancy isn't up and running yet their plan of blasting stuff would of likely failed had this been a fully functional base, this wasn't a master scheme more luck on their part I should of made that bit clearer at the time.
T'Pau and Josh both hurried from the science lab to med bay on hearing the alert having correctly guessed that the Romulans were reasonable and engaged the much larger force, although both where eventual taken down they did buy time for security to arrive in force and for the hostages to escape via a Jefferies tube, similar to how Beverly got people out of sickbay in the film first contact gratz for quick thinking on that one.
With his plans shot and his hostages escaped, he assumed both T'Pau and Josh were dead none of his guys knew the phasers were all set too stun it's unclear if Romulan weapons from his time would even of had a stun setting, Herlak had little choice but too try a brute force approach and raiding the science lab on the way out he grabbed his mysterious cargo and made for the docking ring. Along the way his forces ran into a security team lead by the stations security chief Lt. Cmdr Harrison. Although the Romulan crew outnumbered the security team they managed to pin them down for a time and unable to wait it out for fear of federation reinforcements arriving Herlak and his crew were force into making a dash for the turbolift in order to escape, most of them where cut down during this attempt with only Herlak and four of this people actually making to the docking bay and they lost all but one of the spheres.
Even though they had reached the docking ring it seemed that the surviving Romulans were trapped as Jorda had locked down all craft shortly after the red alert and captain Charinne's ship the Azrael was in a patrol formation around the station ready to disable any ships that tried to flee, however someone... possibly one of the Romulans but given there unfamiliarity with modern tech and the fact they there on the run at time it seems unlikely, disabled some of the computer safety systems and tricked it into thinking one of the stations reactors were about to go critical tripping an emergency state and ending the lock down, the Azrael receiving this message moved in to help in evacuations if needed. Fortunately with partial comms restored Jorda was able to warn people that the alert was a trick and as a civilian shuttle made a break for it the Azrael moved to intercept and disable it.
Just before the Azrael could fire the shuttle turn directly for them abandoning the cover of the station in favor of what seemed to be on an ultimately futile kamikaze run, seconds before the ship could fire disabling the shuttle the small craft seemed to explode all on it's own, possibly the crew favoring death at there own hands rather than being captured a second time... however not taken in Adalinde and her crew scanned the area and quickly discovered no wreckage from the explosion and figured out that the shuttle had detonated an explosive device, probably a torpedo of some sorts just as it went to warp... by the time the crew of the Azrael were able to scan past the systems residual radiation and lock onto the shuttles warp signature the ship had escaped.))
