Name: Cassandra Burns
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 29
Career path: Psychiatry, medical division.
Ship: U.S.S. Ophiuchus
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown
Height: 175 cm
Weight: 60kg
Physical Description: Cassandra seems to take pride in her messy uniform and rarely appears for duty without something askew. She will immediately fix whatever was wrong though, preferring not to argue. She barely passed her phaser combat simulations, being a little short sighted but adamantly refusing to get glasses. Her small frame paired with no great agility or speed also leaves her somewhat lacking when it comes to any kind of physical combat.
Personality: Whether she always was like this or had to be due to her physical shortcomings, Cass will always try for a peaceful solution to any problem. She'll often lie to avoid conflict, although she's been working on that recently considering the effect it has on her social life.
Strengths & Weaknesses: The biggest obvious weakness is her physical abilities being neither skilled with ranged weapons or melee combat. Anything outside the ship pretty much will present a challenge to her. The most redeeming trait would be her academic training, being experienced in psychology and medicine. She also cooks quite well, going far enough to have a kitchen installed in her quarters.
Ambitions: Both of her parents were Star Fleet officers, pushing her towards becoming one herself. Along with that noble goal, she wants to learn another language and has been trying for years but gives up and moves onto another quickly, leading her to know very small snippets of many pointless pointless languages.
Hobbies & Interests: Cooking is a strength right? Fine, Cass often cooks as a -hobby-. She is also deeply interested in psychology, the only study she didn't need a close deadline to feel motivated enough for. Not exactly a interest but this seems like the place for it, she hates the Borg more than any other evil alien group trying to take over the universe. Explained pretty simply by the deaths of her family.
Other than that she does what you'd expect from a human, reads, naps, listens to music, goes out drinking.
Family:
Father - James Burns, deceased.
Mother - Annalise Burns, deceased.
Godfather/Adoptive Father- Anthony Wright, deceased
Background: Cassandra was born in San Francisco to two Federation officers, commonly leaving her with her grandmother when out on tours of duty. This didn't last long as both her parents were killed in a confrontation with the Borg when she was 9. Her grandmother also began to develop dementia and wasn't the best candidate to raise her.
Cass was placed in the hands of her godfather, another Star Fleet officer. She lived alone most of the time, only seeing him every few months. Sadly ( for a 9 year old) she missed out on anything a parental signature was required for throughout school due to her situation . She applied to the Starfleet medical academy as soon as she left school, passing the entrance exam first time. She went straight for psychiatry, enjoying her work for once . Wright was killed too when she turned 20, leaving everything he had to her. Cass continued her study at the academy where she spent another 8 years. (For a total of 12 years...then again, you're supposed to spend 4 years at the academy...but 12 is the regular number for psychiatry...hmmm...well, her age can still be changed to match. Point is, she was there for between 4 and 12 years )
After graduating, she finally got to do what she had been waiting for and joined Star Fleet as a lieutenant junior grade. She was assigned to the U.S.S Orphiuchus as a councillor but attracted a fair amount of bad reputation for her "liberal" use of drugs in therapy, some of her patients returning for addiction problems after going a few sessions with her. She was reassigned to medical where she did well working on physical injuries, as long as no one let her play with the buzz saw.
Like most people, she heard of Starbase 332's return and figured she should at least take a look. Her commanding officer has been looking for an excuse to remove her from duty for a while anyway.

@handle: @zeldathecat (Don't ask, it's a story of pain, anger and not caring enough) You'll probably know me better as Angel ^_^
How much RP experience do you have and what other mmo/tabletop rpg's have you played?: About 2 and a half years now of rping as a hobby, before that it was just something I did when it arose then ran back to PvE stuff. Same mmos as most of you, considering I followed you lot here.
What interested you in our Fleet and what are you hoping to get out of your time with us?, do you have any particular charter plots in mind for you captain that you'd like to share with us?: Nooope, I was never good at organising story arcs and have a tendency to make supporting characters, someone has to >_> Cass has development, but little that can be morphed into a story. Guess you could channel her hate of the Borg into a short arc. Could even find her parents half morphed ^_^ That would take at least little skill with the forge though. Anyway, no plans for now or the immediate future. And I was interested in the fleet when this person called Tess told me to be.
How much do you know about Trek?: This one time, I went outside and looked at some stars. True story. (Very...very...little)
Who is your favorite Starfleet Captain?: Picard I guess, not that I know many.
Trapped on a desolate planet with an angry Gorn and no weapons what would you do?: Wonder what a Gorn is then probably die horribly considering how other applicants have answered.
(Plenty of time to make adjustments since I won't be in STO for the next two weeks >_< well I might be, if the hotel wifi is amazing for some reason. Anyway, just letting you know)
